1Way 1: in the game
Open Shield & Shred on your phone while you are online, then:
- Open SettingsIn your town, tap the gear button at the side of the screen, then SETTINGS.
- Tap Delete accountIt is the red row near the bottom: “This cannot be undone”.
- Tap DELETE FOREVERThe game asks DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT? and shows what you will lose. KEEP MY ACCOUNT backs out.
- Type your nameOn LAST CHANCE, type your player name exactly as shown (or DELETE, if the game asks for that instead). The button unlocks when the word matches. Tap it.
- Wait for “YOUR ACCOUNT IS DELETED”DELETING… can take up to a minute. Then START AGAIN opens a fresh game, or you can uninstall it.
Deleting needs the internet. Without it, the game says DELETING NEEDS THE NETWORK. If the game closes halfway, it finishes the delete the next time you open it. If you see COULD NOT DELETE · TRY AGAIN LATER, nothing was deleted: try again later, or use Way 2.
Uninstalling the game does not delete your account. Delete it first, then uninstall.
2Way 2: without the game
If you no longer have the game, email us from the Google account you linked in the game. In the game, Settings → Google account shows it as LINKED with a masked address, such as m•••@gmail.com.
- Send it to support@media-mc.com with the subject “Delete my account”. You don't need to give a reason.
- We match your address to the Google account linked in the game, delete the account within one month, and reply to confirm.
The player id in Settings → Support is easy to copy, so it does not prove an account is yours. We cannot delete an account by player id alone.
Never linked Google? If the game is still on your phone, use Way 1. If you uninstalled it, reinstalling may bring your account back from your phone's Android backup; if the game opens at its Welcome screen instead, that account can no longer be reached from the game.
You can still email us without the game: write to support@media-mc.com with the subject “Delete my account”, your player name, your league and, if you have it, the player id from Settings → Support. Because nothing outside the game proves an unlinked account is yours, we will reply and tell you what we can do for it.
3What is deleted
- Your sign-in, including any Google link
- Your player name and picture
- Your titans and cards
- Your town and its buildings
- Your coins and crystals, and everything you bought (coins and card packs), with no refund from us
- Your stars, your league and your places on every leaderboard
- Your fight history, packs, items, daily missions, goals and letters
- Your Terms record and refund status (strikes and any debt)
- On your phone: the game's saved copy of your account, and your reminders
This cannot be undone. Starting again later makes a brand-new account at Bronze.
4What is kept, and for how long
A few records stay after a delete, most of them for a fixed time. None of them lets anyone open your account again.
| What stays | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Server logs | Security and fixing bugs. | Up to 30 days. |
| Crash reports | Fixing bugs. | Up to 90 days. |
| Ad reward records, without your player id | Fraud checks. | Up to 400 days after each ad. |
| Purchase records, without your player id | Tax and accounting law. | As long as that law requires (up to 7 years). |
| Admin log entries about your account | To show what was done and why. | As long as we need a record of that action (no fixed limit). |
| Name reportsOnes you sent (with only a hash of your id), and ones naming your name. | Name moderation. | Up to 90 days. |
| Delete markerA hash of your old player id. | Stops the account from coming back. | Expires after 2 hours, then deleted automatically, usually within a day. |
| Database backups | Recovery from accidents. | Up to 7 days. |
| Your phone's Android backup of the sign-in data | Made by Android, not by us. It no longer opens any account. | Until Android replaces that backup. |
| The install id and your sound, music and notification settings | They live on your phone. | Until you uninstall the game. |
| Support emails, including a delete request | Answering you, and a record that we did what you asked. | Up to 24 months after the conversation ends. |
| Google's own recordsAd data, Google Play orders, your Google account. | Held by Google, not by us. | Under Google's policies. |
If you linked Google, your Google account may still list Shield & Shred as a connected app. You can remove it at myaccount.google.com/connections. The full details are in the Privacy policy.
5Accounts from before 2.0
Shield & Shred has been rebuilt from scratch for 2.0, and nothing from the old game carries over. The old game's Delete button went away with the update.
Accounts from the old Shield & Shred (before version 2.0) will be deleted in full 30 days after version 2.0 is released. You don't need to do anything.
To have yours deleted sooner, email support@media-mc.com. Tell us your old player name, and write from the Google account you used with the old game if you had one.
6Removing only your name
Your name is what other players see, with your picture, stars and league. If that is all you want gone, you don't need to delete your account: change your name in Profile. Reports that mention your old name are deleted within 90 days.
