Every five to nine completed raids, your next PLAY NOW is a boss instead of an opponent. The gap is drawn in advance and every length is equally likely, so you cannot count it out exactly. Wins and losses both count toward it; walking out of a raid does not.
- Forty seconds. No turns. The boss has no health bar and never attacks — a Boss Rush cannot be lost.
- Everything you land fills a LOOT BONUS meter up to +300%. Hit the ceiling and the run ends early on OVERKILL.
- The meter is measured against your own attack, so a high-level account does not get the bonus for free. It is the same bar for everyone, which makes it a test of the board rather than of your roster.
- It pays rank stars and one guaranteed titan box — and nothing else. No coins, no crystals. Usually the standard box; occasionally a bigger one.
- Stars scale with your league, and the loot bonus multiplies them — so a strong run at the top of the ladder is the best star payout in the game outside your base.
There are three bosses, drawn at random: Emberkhan (fire, “the walking furnace”), Deepmaw (water, “terror of the trench”) and Gravebloom (toxic, “the rotting colossus”). Because the whole fight is a damage race with nothing to survive, the element wheel is pure profit here — counter-pick the boss and every second of the clock is worth more.
Nothing else is at stake: a Boss Rush touches no opponent, no plunder, no win/loss record and no matchmaking. Walking out costs nothing and the boss is still owed on your next PLAY NOW.
