The Titan Box From the code

What a box pays, and how it decides.

Boxes are the only way to get a new titan or a new skill, so it is worth understanding what one actually does. This section describes the real rule, taken from the game rather than estimated.

The four Titan Box sizes, smallest to largest: an X1 in dull iron and wood, an x10 in blue steel, an x100 in gold over violet, and an x1000 bound in gold chain and molten fire
The four box sizes. Smallest to largest: X1, x10, x100, x1000. The DNA inside scales exactly with the name — a handful from an X1, thousands from an x1000.

A box pays cards, never a titan

This is the part worth knowing before you open your first one. A Titan Box never hands you a titan and never pays currency. It pays cards, in two separate rolls:

  • DNA — the levelling material, and it only ever goes to titans, skills and ultimates you already own.
  • Blueprints — the unlock material, and those only ever go to things you do not own and can currently obtain.

The two can never overlap, so a box can never pay you DNA for something you cannot field, and never blueprints for something you already have. Every box pays several different card types, and never the same type twice.

Size changes the two halves differently. The DNA half is the same shape whatever you open — always five to nine different things — and the size decides only how much of each, multiplying by ten at every step up: a handful from an X1, thousands from an x1000. The blueprint half changes how many things it pushes forward as well. An X1 or an x10 puts blueprints toward one or two of them, an x100 toward two or three, an x1000 toward four or five. And roughly two boxes in five, at any size, carry no blueprints at all.

When a blueprint bar fills, you go to Upgrades and press UNLOCK yourself.

There is no rarity percentage table

Boxes are often described in percentages. This one genuinely does not work that way, so quoting a table would misdescribe it. For each card, the game gathers every rarity pool that can actually pay you something right now, discards the ones that cannot, and picks uniformly among what is left — then uniformly among the entities inside that pool. Titans, skills and ultimates sit in the same pools with no category weighting, so a box can legitimately land entirely on titans or entirely on skills.

The practical consequence is the useful bit: your odds shift as your collection does. Own everything Normal and the Normal pool stops offering blueprints, so your blueprints concentrate on what is left. Completing a rarity is not just a milestone — it changes what future boxes can give you.

One exception, and it is the whole difference between a bought box and an earned one. A box bought with gems rolls one extra titan card off a real rarity table before any of the above happens, and the shop publishes those percentages — tap the i at the end of the TITAN BOXES heading. The X1 and the x10 share a single table — a bigger box is not a better roll, only a larger one — and only the x100 differs, and ten plain results in a row floor the next one at Rare. Boxes you earn carry none of that.

Where boxes come from

Coins cannot buy a box. Gems can. The shop's TITAN BOXES row sells an X1 for 50 gems, an x10 for 450 once you reach Diamond, and an x100 for 4,500 once you reach Grand Champion. There is no x1000 for sale at any price. Everything else is earned:

  • Raid wins, at your league's drop rate and size (see Leagues). Your first two wins after the tutorial each drop one for certain.
  • Clearing all five daily missions, once a day.
  • Every Boss Rush — guaranteed.
  • The Menagerie badge, which pays an x10 box at five titans and an x100 at ten. Its last rung, an x1000 at all twenty, cannot be reached yet: the five Mythic titans are held back for events, so a collection tops out at fifteen for now.
  • Letters from us in the in-game mail, which sit unopened until you choose to open them.
Changed in build 66. An earlier version of this page published a fixed table of rarity percentages and a “10th box is guaranteed Rare” pity rule. Both belonged to a box you bought with coins, and that box no longer exists — boxes are not sold at all now. The rule above is what the current box actually does.
Corrected 8 September 2026. This page used to say that bigger boxes pay “more of each — that is the only thing the size changes”, and that no currency buys a box. Neither was still true. A box's blueprint half widens with its size as well as deepening, and the shop began pricing three of the four sizes in gems on 4 September — which also retires the line in the note above about boxes not being sold at all, and brings back the published table and the pity rule that note describes as gone. They apply to bought boxes only. Both sections above have been rewritten against the game's own code.
