Your base

The five buildings and what each one is for.

Five buildings, each with one job. Building, upgrading and crafting are where nearly all of your rank stars come from — and rank is what sets how much every raid win pays. This is the loop: raid for crystals, spend crystals on crafts, crafts level the building, levels pay stars, stars raise your league, and a higher league pays more per raid.

Five icons in a ring joined by arrows that all run the same way: a raid shield, a
cluster of crystals, a crafting anvil, a rank star and a league skull, closing
                back round to the raid.
It is one loop, not five upgrade tracks. Raid for crystals, spend crystals on crafts, crafts and upgrades pay rank stars, and stars carry you up the leagues — where the fixed reward on every future raid is larger. The last step feeds the first, which is the part a list of steps cannot show.
  • Citadel — the heart. Its level is the ceiling for all four others, and it hides a growing share of your coins and crystals from raiders. It also unlocks titan passive slots, and the ultimate pool.
  • Titan Forge — crafts the battle items you carry into a raid, and sharpens the titan that defends you.
  • Crystal Refinery — guards your coins and crystals, widens your revenge window, and increases what you plunder.
  • Bastion — armours your defending titan with health and a starting shield.
  • DNA Lab — sharpens your defending titan's special attack and lets it heal mid-fight.

Every building starts unbuilt, and construction is cheap and instant; the Citadel has to go up first. After that, upgrades cost coins and crystals, and the Citadel can only rise once the other four have caught up to it — a leapfrog all the way to level 100.

Crafting is how a building levels

Four of the five buildings craft; the Citadel never does. Each finished craft fills the XP bar, and a full bar arms the upgrade. Early crafts take seconds and the late ones take hours, but no single job in the game runs longer than a day — the base is meant to be checked on, not scheduled around.

Buff points

Each of the four crafting buildings carries a set of buffs, unlocked slot by slot as the building levels and paid for with points the building itself earns. The Citadel has none.

Worth knowing before you plan around them: no building buff helps you on a raid you are attacking. Every one is either a defence bonus, which fires when someone raids you, or an economy bonus that pays out afterwards. If you want to hit harder on offence, that comes from your titan and your skills.

Battle items

Six items, crafted in the Titan Forge with crystals and a timer once the Forge is far enough along. You carry up to three into a raid: Ooze Flask, Chitin Ward, Acid Vial, Reshuffle Charm, Bone Charm and Titan Serum.

Being straight with you: in build 66 only two of the six actually change a fight — the shield and the attack boost, and those apply whether or not you equipped them. The other four craft and equip but currently do nothing. It is a bug, not a design, and it is on the list.
